AMBASSADOR PROGRAM

The DARKCon Ambassador Program is a selective leadership and professional development opportunity designed for dental students who are passionate about service, leadership, and advancing the future of dentistry.

Ambassadors play an important role in the success of DARKCon while gaining unique access to industry leaders, dental professionals, sponsors, speakers, and conference experiences. Through hands-on involvement, ambassadors develop professional skills, expand their networks, and contribute to initiatives that extend beyond the conference itself.
 
Each year, a limited cohort of ambassadors is selected to represent the next generation of dental leaders while supporting the mission and execution of DARKCon.

PROGRAM ELIGIBILITY

The DARKCon Ambassador Program is intended for current dental students who demonstrate leadership potential, professionalism, a commitment to service, and a desire to contribute to the advancement of the dental profession.

Applicants must be actively enrolled in an accredited dental program and anticipated to graduate between 2027 and 2030.

Preference may be given to applicants who demonstrate a strong history of leadership, community involvement, mentorship, and service.
 

Program Details

  • Selective Cohort: Limited amount of ambassadors will be selected annually through a competitive application process. 

  • Conference Access: Selected ambassadors will receive a special discounted registration rate of $499 (a significant reduction from standard pricing).

  • Leadership Development: Ambassadors will gain exposure to conference planning, event operations, professional networking, and leadership opportunities. 

  • Volunteer Responsibilities: Ambassadors will assist with conference operations, registration, attendee  support, session coordination, community impact initiatives, and other event logistics. 

  • Community Impact Participation: Ambassadors may have the opportunity to assist with the DARKCon Smile Makeover Initiative and DARKCon Dental Day of Service, supporting efforts to expand access to care and serve local communities. 

  • Networking Opportunities: Ambassadors will engage with practicing dentists, specialists, industry leaders, sponsors, speakers, and fellow attendees throughout conference weekend. 

  • Ambassadors must be available throughout DARKCon 2027, including conference setup and event operations from Tuesday, April 6, 2027 through Sunday, April 11, 2027. 
     

Professional Expectations

The Ambassador Program is a working leadership opportunity, not solely a conference attendance opportunity.

Selected ambassadors are expected to:

  • Arrive on time and prepared for all assigned responsibilities.

  • Complete assigned shifts and tasks with a positive and professional attitude.

  • Communicate respectfully with attendees, speakers, sponsors, volunteers, and fellow ambassadors.

  • Remain engaged and contribute equally to the success of the conference.

  • Represent DARKCon and their organization in a professional manner at all times.
     

Ambassadors are expected to prioritize assigned responsibilities before attending educational sessions, networking events, or social activities.

Failure to fulfill assigned responsibilities, repeated tardiness, unprofessional conduct, disruptive behavior, failure to work collaboratively with fellow ambassadors, or violations of conference policies may result in removal from the Ambassador Program without refund, reimbursement, future eligibility, or award consideration.
 

Financial Responsibility

Selected ambassadors are responsible for their own transportation, lodging, and meal expenses unless otherwise provided through sponsorship support or scholarship funding.

Ambassador Recognition 

Ambassadors will be recognized during the DARKCon Leadership Gala. Additional scholarships, awards, and travel assistance may be distributed based on donor support and available funding, but not guaranteed.
